Attached below you will find our submission to council regarding the changes we want to see implemented in the Property Standards By-Law 36-2001. Council has agreed to review this By-Law, and we wanted to be certain that our opinion on the matter was very clear. We will need to pay attention to the upcoming agendas as they did not provide a date for when the revision will be taking place.

We presented our arguments to council on Tuesday April 17th, expressing our concerns with the Property Standards Officer position. Our presentation is attached below. Deputy Mayor Rhonda Ehgoetz presented a motion to re-open or amend the Property Standards By-Law as was passed in 2001. We think this is a good first step but we remain cautiously optimistic moving forward. We will need to keep the pressure on so this gets dealt with in a timely manner and that the concerns we have are addressed. The mayor mentioned that the Township is drafting a policy surrounding Biosecurity but we can find no mention of this in any of the council agendas or minutes from the past two months.

We will be presenting our arguments to council this Tuesday. As you are able we are looking to the public to further show your support as we work to make changes in the Township.
The council meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm at the Township offices: 25 Mill Street East, Milverton ON In the link is our letter to council. Please print it, fill it out and email it to tcampbell@pertheast.ca. They can also be dropped off in person at 25 Mill Street East, Milverton, ON NOK 1MO. Letters can be mailed in as well, but will no longer make it before next council meeting. Tuesday April 17th at 7:30. Please attend if you support our cause.
